Family Sessions

Family photographers in Charlotte, NC — for the seasons you don't want to forget.

Slow mornings. Real laughter. The kind of photographs your kids will fight over one day.

The photos you'll wish you had are the ones you almost didn't take.

It's the Tuesday morning ones. The kitchen-floor ones. The way she still fits in your lap, the way he reaches for your hand without looking, the way the baby's hair curls when it's a little too long.

Nobody schedules a Tuesday morning. Nobody books a session for the way the light hits the rug at 4pm in October. And yet those are the photos you'll go looking for, ten and twenty years from now — not the ones where everyone matched, but the ones where everyone was being.

That's what I'm here to make. The ones in between. The ones you can almost hear.

A family session with me is more like a slow morning than a photoshoot.

Here's what it isn't: lining up on a porch, smiling at a count of three, surviving an hour of "everybody look here."

Here's what it is: I show up, we settle in, the kids stop performing for the camera within about ten minutes, and we let the actual day happen.

I might ask you to walk down the driveway holding hands. I might ask the kids to show me their room. I might ask you to make pancakes, or read the book they've been obsessed with, or just sit on the couch while I fade into the background.

The photos that come out of those moments don't look like photos. They look like memories. Which is, of course, the point.

I shoot candid by instinct, lifestyle by approach. Light direction when it's needed. A lot of stepping back when it isn't. And because I'm a mom myself, the chaos doesn't faze me — the toddler meltdown, the kid who won't look up, the baby who needs to nurse mid-session. We work around it. The photos are usually better for it.

Who This Is For

This is for you if........

  • You haven't done family photos in a few years and you're starting to feel it.

  • You've been waiting until you lose the weight, redo the living room, get the kids in better moods, find the right outfits. (You don't need to wait. None of that is what you'll notice in the photos later. I promise.)

  • Your husband is "not really a photo person." (Most of mine aren't, going in. They almost always are by the end.)

  • You have a baby who won't be a baby for much longer.

  • You have a parent or a grandparent who's getting older, and you've started to quietly notice it.

  • You moved into the house and you haven't taken photos in it yet.

  • Something in your life is about to change, and you can feel it, and you want to remember this exact version of your family before it does.

If any of those landed — we should talk.

Where We'll Shoot

At home, outside, or somewhere that means something to you.

The best family sessions almost always happen in the places your family actually lives. Your kitchen. Your back porch. The park three blocks from your house where you go on Saturdays. The grandparents' house, when you're all in town for the holidays.

I'm based in Charlotte and shoot families all over the area — [list a few specific Charlotte neighborhoods/areas she works in often, e.g. Myers Park, Plaza Midwood, Davidson, Dilworth, Lake Norman] — but I travel happily for sessions that need it. If your family is scattered and you're getting everyone together for one weekend a year, that's exactly the kind of session I want to be there for.

What's Included

What you can expect

A real conversation before the session. I'll want to know your kids, your dynamic, what you're hoping to remember. Not a form. A conversation.

[X] hours of unhurried photography. No rushing. No watching the clock. Long enough for the kids to forget I'm there.

Light direction, zero stiff posing. I'll guide. I won't force.

A private online gallery of [X+] edited images. Delivered within [X] weeks. Yours to keep, share, print, hold onto forever.

Print and album guidance, if you want it. Because a photograph that lives only on a phone is a photograph waiting to be lost.

Investment

Family sessions begin at [$X].

Full pricing details, what's included at each tier, and current availability are sent over after we've talked.

I keep my calendar intentionally limited so every family I photograph gets the time and care this kind of work actually requires. If you're considering it for this season, the sooner we connect, the better.

The hardest part is deciding to do it.

If you've been thinking about family photos for a while now — that quiet, persistent thought that keeps coming back — that's worth listening to. The version of you reading this in fifteen years will be glad you did.

When you're ready, I'd love to hear about your people.
